Serum Institute of India Pauses COVID-19 Vaccine Trials

Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII) has reportedly paused its clinical trials of the Oxford Coronavirus vaccine, which were being conducted India. This comes after the Drug Control General of India (DCGI), V.G. Somani, issued a show-cause notice to the manufacturer requesting an explanation as to why they proceeded with clinical trials of the vaccine while doubts regarding patient safety still persist.

According to reports, the Serum Institute of India said in a statement that it will be pausing its clinical trials of the vaccine until pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca resumes their trials.
