Students Request Postponement of Board Exams; NEET 2021 Aspirants Ask Education Minister for Reduced Syllabus and Multiple Attempts

As Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal is expected to announce the dates for CBSE Classes 10 and 12 board examinations for 2021 on 31st December at 6:00 PM, students and parents took to Twitter to raise their concerns and requested that board exams be postponed due to loss of time and irregular classes caused by the pandemic and subsequent lockdown.

According to reports, National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 aspirants also requested that the exam syllabus be reduced and that NEET 2021 be conducted twice in a year.  

Minister Pokhriyal had earlier clarified that there are no plans to cancel NEET 2021.

During a virtual interaction last Tuesday, the Education Minister also said that a decision on when the exams will be conducted will be taken after an assessment of the situation and consultation with stakeholders.

The Minister also said that CBSE board exams would be held after February 2021.
