On November 13, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, declared that schools, universities, and other educational institutes will be shut for seven days beginning from Monday because of debasing air quality.

Emulating their example, the Haryana government additionally chose to close its schools and universities in four urban areas, including Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, and Jhijar, from Monday.
