The Uttar Pradesh government has reportedly allowed schools to be reopened for classes 9th to 12th from August 16, 2021. The schools are asked to resume physical classes keeping all the COVID-19 restrictions and protocols in mind.

The attendance will be limited, to 50% so as to maintain the restrictions set by the Government. However, not all parents are actually willing to send their children to school at this crucial stage. Almost all other schools are slowly getting ready to resume their physical classes maintaining all the COVID-related protocols.

The Cathedral Senior Secondary School reportedly had a hundred students attending classes on Monday. As per Donald D’Souza, the spokesperson and chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Lucknow told a news agency that the students of classes 9 to 12 are attending physical classes from Monday, 16th of August.

About a hundred students reported their attendance which is overall 20% of the total school’s strength. However, there were a few other schools in Lucknow that remained closed.

It had been noted that the UP government has earlier issued an order that the classes for the Higher Educational Institutes will be resumed from 1st September. However, in a recent statement, the government informed that as per the suggestions of the State Level Health Specialist Advisory Committee, the Senior Secondary Educational Institutes, vocational and other professional training institutes would remain open with 50% at attendance along with the teachers. The classes for such additional Institute would be held in two shifts, adhering to all the covid-19 restrictions and other protocols.
